How To Get More Benefits From Your Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

The Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet

There’s a robot that can be found for every carpet type, whether it’s high-pile or low-pile. These intelligent appliances can navigate your home, suck up dirt and clean under furniture.

A lot of them come with advanced features, like mapping, robotvacuummops which allows them to navigate your home and remember furniture placement. They can also boost suction power to clear dirtier areas.

iRobot Roomba 694″

The iRobot Roomba 694 is a basic robot vacuum that performs well on both carpets with a low pile or bare floor. It is able to suction well, but struggles with larger debris like sand or grains of rice. It also does a decent job of cleaning pet hair, but it’s not immune to tangling like high-end Roomba models such as the I6 or j7.

The Roomba is easy to operate. It features three buttons on the top cover. ‘Clean,’ which initiates a cleaning session and ‘Dock’, which puts it in its charging station and the ‘Spot’ button, which triggers a targeted cleaning. It can be controlled with an app for smartphones which lets you program or stop/start cycles as well as adjust settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.

This vacuum is a little slower than the others, however it’s still able to reach most corners and crevices. It has a large dustbin that is ideal for reducing the frequency with which you need to empty it. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers which allows you to set the robot to avoid certain areas or stop cleaning altogether to avoid it from getting stuck.

It’s not the best for its price, but it’s still superior to other models. The Roborock E4 has a better cleaning capability than the Roomba 694 and it is able to clean both carpets with low pile as well as bare. It also has a longer-lasting battery and a better path. It is also more robust, has fewer components that require regular maintenance, is priced less over its life and charges faster than 694.

It’s also worth considering other, more premium models within the iRobot line, such as the 981 or the v7. They’re more expensive, but they are significantly better than the 694 in terms of performance on both low and bare floors, use the most efficient cleaning method, have a bigger dirt compartment, are more efficient to charge, maneuver themselves more easily, and are easier to connect with smart home devices.

Shark RV1001AE IQ

This budget self-emptying robot vacuum cleaner does a good job on carpets with a low pile and hard floors. Its combinator brush gets to the edges and corners, and then automatically boosts suction once it senses carpet. It also does a good job of cleaning embedded dirt from carpet in the middle. The IQ’s tiny footprint for docks and its self-emptying feature are both nice features. However, if you want to alter the floor level on the map, or set no-go zones, you’ll need manually reset it to do this, which can be somewhat of an inconvenience.

The IQ’s app has some advanced mapping and automation capabilities however it doesn’t have no-go zones that are available on iRobot models. Its smart-pathing system allows for greater maneuverability and the high-pile feature of its carpet cleaning mode is efficient but it could get stuck on rug tassels.

During our tests, we found that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to get rid of lots of debris on floors that were not bare and a good amount of rug with a medium pile. It was a little less effective on shag carpet, where it struggled to reach dirt and dust that was embedded in the fibers. It was able to navigate chair legs, small spaces, and even the base of an IKEA wooden step stool. It was a bit slower on bare floors however it soon recovered speed and performed more thoroughly than the other robots we tested.

The IQ is a better option for most users than the iRobot Roomba. It has a bigger dustbin and a longer battery life and is more adept in navigating around obstacles. It also comes with mopping attachments that are able to tackle sticky mess. On the other side the iRobot is built better and has fewer parts that require maintenance or replacement, incurs lower recurring costs and can even create virtual no-go zones through its companion app. It can even restart a cleaning session from the point it started if it runs out of battery before it has completed the task. The iRobot can also be controlled using voice, which is a huge plus for many users.

Eufy 11S

The RoboVac 11S robotic vacuum isn’t among the most features-rich models, but it offers excellent cleaning power for a low cost. This robot vacuum is designed for consumers with a tight budget who don’t need a complex mapping system, or even an app, to control it. The robot can run for up to an hour and comes with a remote, cleaning tool, AC power adapter, charging base, and additional filters.

The 11S is slim and sleek, with a tempered glass upper deck that is covered with plastic, which is finished to appear like brushed aluminum. It’s a refreshing departure from the industrial and utilitarian designs of Roomba, Samsung and Neato.

In our tests, the eufy11S was excellent at picking up larger particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean medium and high-pile carpets. It also has a tendency to hit furniture and people in its path, but it’s able to detect these obstacles using sensors. It stops and emits a loud noise when it encounters an obstacle. You can then manually steer the device around it to restart it.

Another great aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode that lets you set the robot to automatically adjust its suction power to match the type of floor and the amount of mess. It’s also simple to use the remote to direct the 11S in the direction you’d like it to go.

Single Room Mode is a great alternative if you have a small amount of furniture in the space you want to vacuum. The eufy can spend up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.

Edge Cleaning is another option that limits the time spent on each surface to a maximum of 20 minutes. This will increase the battery’s life. This option allows the eufy to move in a spiraling manner cleaning edges and corners.

Miele Complete C1

The Miele Complete C1 canister robot is a great mid-range vacuum cleaner that is a winner on carpet. Its performance on carpets with no floor is also exceptional. It is able to remove fine debris like rice easily and doesn’t lose suction performance even as its dirt bin gets full. Its air-sealed design and allergy-friendly design capture allergens and keep your family healthy. It uses an onboard HEPA filter and a self-emptying bin, so you don’t need additional filters or a separate vacuum bag.

It’s not as powerful as more expensive models, but it’s excellent for dealing with staining and deep cleaning. Its two front cameras deliver a live image feed on your smartphone, and it features one of the best obstacle avoidance systems we’ve seen. It has a huge bin, an extended runtime and a quick, bump-free cleanup.

The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it is able to switch between a standard head and a turbo for different kinds of flooring. The turbo head is great for carpeting that is high-pile and low-pile and the standard powerhead works well on unfinished floors and light rug. It also features an automatic height adjustment system that allows it to adjust to different kinds of flooring without manual adjustments.

This model is included with the SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead, which can be used on hard floors and carpets of medium pile. The powerhead can also be easily moved around and can reach hard-to-reach areas. It comes with five levels of surface adjustment and a switch that lets you turn off the brushroll to help prevent tangled hairs.

The Classic C1 has a self cleaning brush roll, it has a UtraClean Mode that cleans the same area three times, and a self-emptying bin that can be emptied with a single button press. The noise level is a little higher than some other models however, its powerful 1,200-watt motor and sturdy build make it worth the extra cost.

If you’re willing to pay some extra money then the Miele Complete C3 canister robot vacuum is a great all-around robot vacuum. It is more effective on carpets than the Classic C1. It performs better on all kinds of floors and is more robustly built, and comes with a HEPA filter.
